Consortium Blockchain-Based Privacy-Preserving Access Control for Mobile Crowdsensing

A decentralized access-control framework that protects sensitive crowdsensing data from unauthorized use.

Overview

Fernet-encrypted off-chain storage is paired with on-chain access control, while Solidity smart contracts manage identities, ownership, permissions and audit logs immutably. Keyword-based indexed retrieval enables efficient search without exposing encrypted content, and every access request and approval is recorded on-chain.

Problem Statement

Mobile crowdsensing collects location and sensor data from thousands of contributors, then stores it wherever the platform operator chooses. Contributors have no control over who reads it and no proof of who did.

Proposed Solution

Separate the data from the permission to read it: keep encrypted payloads off-chain, put identity, ownership and access rules on-chain, and make every access attempt part of the immutable audit trail.
