BC-CVS: Blockchain-Based Certificate Verification System

A decentralized platform that issues and verifies academic/professional certificates to eliminate forgery.

Overview

Ethereum smart contracts automate certificate issuance, verification and revocation, with SHA-256 hashing and RSA digital signatures securing the data. A Bloom filter pre-verification stage speeds up checks before full blockchain queries, and a role-based dashboard serves administrators, institutions, students and employers separately.

Problem Statement

Verifying a degree means emailing the issuing institution and waiting days, and forged certificates are difficult to spot by eye. Employers verifying at scale hit the blockchain for every single check, which is slow.

Proposed Solution

Put issuance and revocation under smart-contract control with cryptographic signatures, and add a Bloom filter in front so the common negative case is answered without a full chain query.
